I owned 2 trucks that had air operated clutches and they both worked well. There is no reason that you could not mount a small aircompressor on your Ford. The air chamber that operated the clutch was about 5 inches in diameter and 5 inches long. A regular brake chamber probably does not have enough travel. The control valve was a foot valve from an air brake system. It is probably possible to do the same thing with a vacuum chamber.
