IH used Prestolite distributors. Do you have any hot rod shops in your area? They sell brand new Mallory distributors. I had a 79 Ford F600 with a 370 that broke the shaft in half. I went to Ford, and they said it would take 2 weeks for a rebuilt unit. Like $350 exchange. My neighbor told me about the Mallory unit. So, I thought, why not? I went to the store with the distributor and they were able to match it exactly!! It was a UNILITE by Mallory, no vacuum advance needed. I took it out the door with a new matching coil for $225. I was lucky because the distributor broke on July 3rd, and I needed the truck on July 5th for a big job. Didn't miss the job.
