Make sure you get the latest design red silicone seals from chevrolet. They tried several types before they got it right. I have seen BB chevys go from 300 to 2000 miles per quart just with a valve seal change. They tell me the valve stems on BB chevy engines run very hot,and it takes a good silicone rubber seal to take the heat.
