The 60 series Detroits are a great engine. However, in the '70 Pete, it would be a 2 cycle Detroit, probably a 71 series. Nothing really wrong with the older Detroits, and in fact I just bought an International with a 8V71. BUT they are noisy, and usually leak oil, and well, it seems most people want a 4 cycle engine. Demand or what pople want drives prices.
