1952 GMC 2.5 ton engine swap

Hello, The original 305 6-cyl engine is frozen, but the rest of the truck is in fairly good condition. Is there an engine that will just bolt up to the trans, or would it make more sense to try to find another running truck? I understand they are relatively cheap ($1000 or so), if one can be found. Thanks!
