bronco II

Electronics on a 1984 Bronco II are giving me fits. First,
everything is cobbled together and then the chipmunks
ate away at the wires. Can I switch this thing to an old
fashion distributor with points instead of all this
electronic stuff? What distributor is interchangable?
Please help and point me in the right direction. Thanks
