Ford truck Engine swap

alright here is my problem i have a 1987 ford f150 that had a 351w and c6 tranny....that motor blew and not i am trying to put in a early 80's 351m engine that had a c6 tranny in it... i got the engine in but the bell housing on the tranny is different than the one the M came offa...but here is the kicker...that bellhousing isn't removable on the new c6 trannys like on the older one so i can't just swap bellhousings... would anyone have an idea if its gonna be as simple as just swpping trannys or is there gonna be more...?? has anyone dealt with a siliar problem?? thanks for any advice in advance
