OT - Walker Car HoistPosted by dw on January 01, 2004 at 20:45:05 from (206.72.58.200): have an old Walker Car Hoist with a Two HP 220 volt motor. In warmer weather it works perfectly. In colder weather the motor runs normally on raising but runs very slow and then kicks out when lowering. The motor was replaced with a new one, about two years ago. I am assuming the problem is in the switch. From what I can find out, Walker is no longer in business. Where could I find a reversing switch that would serve the purpose for this hoist. Also, how much of a challege would it be to replace the switch? I would like a switch that would only work when you are manually pushing it, in either the up or down position. Any help would be appreciated.
