You have two choices, either buy a late model 3/4 ton pickup, maybe overkill but will be safer. If you want fuel economy buy a diesel if you can justify the exspense. I personally would buy a dodge to get the cummins engine but thats just me. V-8 and diesel have never mixed well for me. A truck like this due to the cost would almost have to be used for a daily driver, or you could look around and buy a very good late 60's through early 80's pickup for a fraction of the cost. If you look carefully you can find some that are very nice. I just bought a 68 ford with 59000 miles for 1,200 dollars, cheap transportation. These pickups can set idle when not in use and won't have an astronomical payment each month. As far mas fuel economy goes it won't be quite as good but for the differance in money you could live with that especially if you only use it to haul your tractor once in a while.
