6 Cylinder or V-8?

IH 6's often have the displacement stamped into the main engine block, just below the head. The location may vary from front to back, and right or left side.

The 266-304-345-392 V-8's often had the displacement stamped on a machined surface low down toward the front RH side of the block. (Not too far from the oil filter, if I recall.)
