I agree. The S-10 was a good economical truck. I have owned several, and just bought one of the last ones, a new 2003 base model for $9700 after a $5,000 rebate and supplier discount. I put well over 225,000 miles on an 89 with no major engine work, and it still runs well. The 2.5 engine was bullet proof if maintained. I wonder about the 2.2 aluminum head though, but with full size trucks costing more used than I paid I should be able to get my $$ worth out of it. I have trouble justifying a $40,000 vehicle. That is more than I paid for the first house I purchased.
