83 Chevy Diesel

I have a 1983 Chevy Diesel 1/2ton 4X4, and would like to swap the engine for a gas engine. Has anybody ever made this swap? I want to know how much time I will be putting into it. Potential problems that I have considered are compatability with tranny and gearing, which motor mounts will be reused, wiring, how do you clean out the diesel from the fuel lines and tank, are any Chevy motors more compatible than others, etc.
If it is fairly easy, I will try to find a motor, otherwise, I'll probably just sell it.
