I would go with Ford. Ford and Dodge used TRUCK engines in all their trucks. Chevy used car engines. Just check the oil capacity and you will see. A lot of Ford truck engines had steel crankshafts instead of cast iron. I have never seen a steel crank in a Chevy truck of this era. Some of the Ford truck engines had 4-ring pistons. I never seen a 4-ring piston in a Chevy engine. Fords will take ROUGH treatment, Chevy will not but they look better and sell good.
