I have burnt the exaust valves on a few older motors from running unleaded gas. They were daily drivers and it took years to damage the valves.

The heads were rebuildable so no loss in the long run.

Sorry never tried the additive that is supposed to help. Likely cheaper in the long run to just get the hardened seats installed.That lead substuite is not cheap.
