It ONLY went 425,000 without the head or oil pan off. And I suppose the one in my '69, which went 100,000 miles in mostly first gear and cow poop, was bad too. Now I'm starting to worry about the big block in the 2 ton. I guess at 95,000 it must be raedy for the scrapper. Despite how it pulls the beast down the road. Doesn't matter what engine, it's the maintainence that counts. Look for oil change reciepts, etc. Either of these are good trucks. The ford is a little heavier duty, and it's nice to have the bigger brakes. However, they are prone to steering problems and the I-beam suspension eats tires. Parts for the Chevy are a lot cheaper as long as its a small block.
