i was under the understanding that you had to be 1964 and newer for thing to swap..pre 1964 you would have to swap bellhousings.. i might be wrong been a few years...i put a 1972 4 speed 3/4 ton trans in a 66 chevy with 327 and had to change bellhousing..i might be wrong...have nice day may god bless
