B model Mack questions

Posted by Barry Small on February 23, 2004 at 16:04:49 from (205.188.209.8):

I have a 1962 B-67 Mack that I bought in October, but have not been able to find to much about them. Many of the B models look similar, but today I found the long time owner of the truck, who still has a B-61 and parts, but said the B-61 body parts won't interchange.
My truck, has the thermodyne engine with a turbo, and duplex transmition. It has a single axle, but the model number is for a twin screw truck, and it appears that the front drive axle has been removed when the 5th wheel was removed, and road oiler tank installed.
Any information, or sources would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Barry
