Swap 6.9+C6 for 300+C6 2WD

The truck 85 F350 2wd crew cab diesel dually.
Has a bad 6.9 engine with C-6 automatic. I'm
planning on putting in a 300-6 and C-6 tranny
from either an 81,83 or 85 F150s 2 wheel
drive. I do know the 6.9s C-6 has a different
bolt pattern on the front from the 300-6s C-6
tranny. I want to avoid shortening or
lengthening the driveshaft if I can. If the
tailshafts on the 2 C-6s are different, can they
be swapped? Boyd.
