Paint Prices??

I am getting close to start thinking of what color to paint my truck. Right now it is in grey primer. I was leaning real hard to Plumb Purple. But I was talking to a guy over the weekend and He told me that Plump purple was A real high priced color, like $500 an gallon, Is this true?? If not is there any place that sells it cheaper?
