Charging Problem

72 Chev. C/10 will not charge. Had alt. checked, was OK. Replaced external regulator twice, still no charge. Reason I started on in the first place was because motor had to be revved up in order to get it to start charging. Now it won't do anything. Is problem in wiring, ign. switch or what. Would be nice to have simple diagnostic chart like the ones posted by BobM over on the Farmall forum. Any help appreciated!
