Ford 330 poor running?
Posted by G. L. Grumpy on April 13, 2004 at 17:51:25 from (184.108.40.206):
Have a big Ford with 330. It starts right up, but only stays running if 3/4 choked to take for a drive. I put all new ignition on it, and rebuilt carb (2bbl Holley) and had a heck of time setting float level on outside adjustment. Gas runs out all over when doing that, and never did quit pouring out the side hole. Also have cylinders that come in and go out as it's running. Think it's my carb or just needs a valve job? 66,000 miles on it. I have two exhaust manifold bolts gone, and no gasket there. Will need to pull heads to fix, frame's in way for drill. I bet others will break off when I take off manifolds too. Trying to sell truck, looking for easiest way to run it to sell. As said, will drive down road, just needs choke and pedal fluttering and such. Any ideas to try? Timing is set, and points.
