Years ago they ran 6 and V8 in the same class till the 6s ate the V8 alive then they made up a class just for 6s and the hot rod parts have gotten hard to find. They made an intake for them that was about 15 inches long and that add about 20-70 HP depending on what else you did to the engine. A 6 cylinder maxes out on torque at around 1500 rpm so off the line they will out pull a V-8 but after you get up to speed the V-8 will out pull they max at about 3500 rpm
